Frerea indica
Frerea indica
This Indian species (sometimes known as Caralluma frerei) grows well in a hanging basket. It does, however, like extra heat during the British winter, during which time it tends to drop its leaves and starts to look a little limp and unhappy. This is probably due to the need to keep it - and most other Asclepiads - dry at this time to try to prevent the dreaded rot setting in.
