Stapelia grandiflora
Stapelia grandiflora Stapelia grandiflora
The name grandiflora is well deserved. When they first open, its gorgeous dark hairy flowers measure several inches from tip to tip. The flower lobes continue to open however, eventually folding back behind themselves as seen in the right hand picture. Some growers find the strongly clumping stems too space consuming in a small greenhouse, this is a pity because when it flowers it is something special.
