Sulcorebutias

Sulcorebutias

From Bolivia, Sulcorebutias are very popular in cultivation - indeed some collections contain little else. They do have a lot going for them, they are generally quite small (although eventually forming quite large clumps if not split up), very free flowering, often with nice body forms and they are tolerant of low temperatures.

Often their flowers are strongly coloured, very bold and vibrant pinks in particular, but also reds, yellows, oranges and some wonderful two tone flowers (such as the plant at the front of the picture).
