In addition to the list of cacti on the page for "South of Tucson", another species Echinomastus erectocentrus can also be found on hillsides in the area. The picture on the left shows it hiding amongst the desert annuals in the vicinity of a darker flowered Echinocereus and an Opuntia. The picture on the right shows the delicate coloured flowers of E. erectocentrus.
