Zone One Show - National Garden Festival (cactus classes)

The Zone One Show for 1990 was held as part of the National Garden Festival in Gateshead. It was held over the May Bank Holiday weekend, just a few weeks after the festival opened. This made it the ideal opportunity to impress huge numbers of visitors - and it did just that! Members from both Northumbria and Teesside Branches pulled out all the stops and staged lots of plants both large and small.

Indeed the show was almost a victim of its own success, probably the biggest headache was the fact that such a large number of plants needed to be stewarded to protect them from such large numbers of visitors.

In total nearly fifty classes were exhibited and the quality of the plants was extremely high. The display area was spacious with ample natural light.
