Stomatium geoffreyi (?)

Stomatiums occur in various parts of South Africa. Schwantes, who established the genus in 1926, described them as being " amongst the most charming sights among the Mesembryanthemaceae". Many have attractive leaves, but for some species their best feature is the beautifully scented flowers - including the one pictured which smells of bananas! The flowers tend to open late in the evening.
